Be Their Safety Net

COVID-19 has affected all of us, but not equally.

We have government safety nets like JobKeeper, but families in Zimbabwe don’t. For the next six months you can be a safety net for a family for $26 a month.

Even before the pandemic many families in Zimbabwe were struggling to put food on the table. Years of drought and economic collapse have pushed millions into food insecurity.

So we came up with a way to support vulnerable families through this crisis – by being their safety net.

It works a bit like the government social safety nets we have here. Many of us are receiving support through this crisis to help keep us in work or through cash payments when we lose our job.

By being someone’s safety net in Zimbabwe you are making sure they have enough food to survive each month.

Your gifts will go directly to our local partner in Zimbabwe, who will convert it into food vouchers that a family can spend at mobile food trucks close to their homes.

We will send you regular updates to show you how your gifts are helping. After six months we’ll get in touch with you and see if you would like to continue supporting this programme or stop your gifts.

We know you may not be in a position to help. But if you’re able to be a family’s safety net through the pandemic it will make a huge difference to their lives.
