Richard Wainwright/Act for Peace
Three decades of conflict and instability has had a dramatic impact on children’s education and wellbeing in Afghanistan, and girls are still fighting for equal access to education. Your support is helping girls in Afghanistan overcome the barriers they face going to school and giving them a brighter future through improved access to quality education.
How you’re helping
With your support, Act for Peace’s local partner Community World Service Asia (CWS-A) is providing increased training and mentoring opportunities for female teachers and better access to quality resources to develop a positive learning environment for children.
You’re also helping to enhance awareness of the importance of girls’ education through community awareness raising sessions. This has led to an increase in support for child rights, gender equality and the right to education amongst hundreds of parents, religious and community leaders.
The result is increased female school enrolments, with more young girls progressing through to secondary school and building a future filled with hope
