It is possible to end extreme poverty in our lifetime. Progress is already happening.
Did you know that our generation has already halved extreme poverty? Now it is our challenge to end it. In 1990, over 40% of the world’s population lived below the extreme poverty line (equivalent of USD $1.25 per day) – today it has halved to less than 20%.
We’re seeing real movement towards the end of extreme poverty. Aid has helped halve the number of children who die before their fifth birthday – saving 14,000 kids around the world every single day. Aid saves lives.
