Cyclone Idai

Cyclone IDAI emergency Appeal: please help survivors today

The devastating cyclone that tore across south-eastern Africa may be the worst weather-related disaster to hit the southern hemisphere, according to the UN.

On Friday, 15th of March, Cyclone Idai tore across south-eastern Africa, devastating Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, and triggering a massive disaster. More than 500 people have died and nearly two million people are now in desperate need of assistance.

Cyclone Idai has destroyed almost everything in its path: homes have been washed away, river banks are bursting and many people have been displaced.

In Zimbabwe, our partner has been working frantically to provide urgent items such as food, tents, blankets and hygiene kits to families left with nothing.

But the scale of this disaster is enormous. And they need our help.

Infrastructure and clean water are among the most urgent priorities, and with the destruction of crops throughout the region, there will be an increased and ongoing need for food aid.

Please help them get emergency aid to survivors.

In situations like this, time is critical. Your gifts mean our partner can reach families quickly with life-saving emergency assistance like food, tents and blankets.

So please, give generously today and help families devastated in Zimbabwe to survive, to recover, and rebuild their lives and livelihoods in the wake of this disaster.
