Breaking the Culture of Silence in Fiji
Viri is a teacher from a village named Koio in Fiji. She is a struggling widow and mother, but manages to find time to come to any Ecumenical Centre for Research Education & Advocacy (ECREA) workshops in her area. She takes the information that she gains from these workshops and teaches it to the youth in her village, so that the next generation can understand the issues facing Fiji and be better prepared to support the community in the future.
“I am so concerned about the culture of silence amongst our young people in Fiji. It’s wonderful to see them come to the workshops and leave with the feeling that they are able to be heard. It’s such a wonderful program. May God bless ECREA richly!”
