Act for Peace works to reduce poverty in war-torn regions by growing community food, health and education programs and providing micro-credit schemes to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.

Act for Peace has been working with project partners for over 60 years to address the crippling state of poverty in many war-torn regions. Poverty is a call to action for the poor and for the wealthy. It is a call to change the world so that all people have enough to eat, have shelter, have access to education and health, are protected from violence and have a voice in what happens in their communities.

Our project partners are working to reduce poverty by growing community food, health and education programs and providing Micro-credit schemes to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).  The MDGs are eight goals to be achieved by 2015 that respond to the world's main development challenges. The MDGs are drawn from the actions and targets contained in the Millennium Declaration that was adopted by 189 nations-and signed by 147 heads of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000.
