Act for Peace is working with project partners to protect over 1.5 million refugees and displaced people that have fled from conflicts such as in Darfur, Sudan, Burma, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Act for Peace first began its work in 1948, sending food and non-food items to refugees who had been displaced by the Second World War. Today a central focus of Act for Peace is responding to the needs of people who have been displaced from their homes due to conflict.

At the end of 2008, the number of people internally displaced by conflict, generalised violence or human rights violations across the world stood at approximately 26 million.

Act for Peace is currently working with project partners to protect over 1.5 million refugees and displaced people that have fled from conflicts such as in Darfur, Sudan, Burma, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and other areas of extreme conflict.
