Act for Peace empowers war-torn communities to reduce poverty, protect refugees and prevent further conflicts. In the past year our project partners have helped:

•	Provide food, shelter, peace-building and other assistance to over a million displaced people,
•	Organised successful peace processes in the Sudanese states of Kurdufan and Central Equitoria
•	Helped communities grow their own food and develop income-generating projects to  reduce reliance on aid.

Act for Peace seeks to build people's capacities, leadership and confidence. Our project partners train children, women and men, equipping them with the skills, methods and knowledge needed to take self-reliant actions to improve their lives and conditions in their communities.

These programs are designed and managed by our project partners on the ground as they are best placed to identify the needs and problems in their communities. We work closely with partners to ensure that people in the greatest need are the constant focus of these targeted programs.
