Your help is needed!
Apart from gifts, there are many other practical ways you can make a difference on a global scale. Here you will find a variety of resources to help you engage your family, church, school and community to make a difference in the world.
Through these campaigns, Australians are calling on the Government to do all it can to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and respond to the root causes of poverty.
Every day 25,000 children die as a result of extreme poverty. This shameful situation must end. If we have the will to act we can Make Poverty History.
Make Poverty History is a non-partisan coalition of more than 60 aid organisations, community and faith-based groups. We call on all political parties to take the following steps needed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals:
| · |
increase Australia's aid and ensure it is used effectively |
| · |
make trade fair |
| · |
drop the debts of poor countries |
| · |
help poor countries keep their governments accountable, and |
| · |
tackle climate change in developing countries.
|
Make Poverty History needs your voice. Join the millions of people in Australia and around the world who are taking action to Make Poverty History.

Micah Challenge is a global movement of Christian agencies, churches, groups and individuals which aims to deepen people's engagement with the poor and to help reduce poverty as an integral part of our Christian faith.
Micah Challenge takes its name from the prophet Micah, who wrote, "What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God" Micah 6:8.
Jesus and the Old Testament prophets spoke about God's deep concern and compassion for the poor. As followers of Jesus, we must work together to deepen our own commitment to justice and kindness.

Jubilee Australia is an Australia-wide non-profit, non-government organisation campaigning for the cancellation of harmful debt accumulated by developing countries, and for a more just and equitable world.
Our cause is to transform the shameful reality that more than one billion of the world’s people are today trapped unnecessarily in grinding poverty as a consequence of their country’s weakness and debt. Jubilee Australia tackles the root causes of poverty and injustice in the developing world, and offers deeper explanations for today’s global poverty, food, environment and financial crises.
Jubilee Australia works in solidarity with the international Jubilee debt movement, representing over 60 developed and developing nation campaigns.
