"Soap was distributed two weeks ago. It is better now because we can wash our clothes and our hands in order to keep ourselves from becoming infected. It is very good and we are very happy.” - Chuol, a South Sudanese refugee residing in Akula camp, Ethiopia.
When a person becomes a refugee their life is turned upside-down. They are forced from their home and often torn from their family.
Medical services for refugees in Ethiopia are stretched to the brink of their capacity in trying to meet the needs of desperate people seeking refuge. Unfortunately, this means that refugees are often hit by easily-preventable diseases like Hepatitis E that can kill.
Your gift of $15 will provide refugee families living in terrible conditions in Ethiopia with a supply of soap that will last throughout the difficult rainy season. You will also support mothers and fathers to receive training on how to protect themselves and their children from catching diseases, like Hepatitis E, through hygienic practices such as handwashing.

Help keep families at risk from landslides safe by providing training in disaster risk reduction in schools. Training helps children to identify risks and warning signs of landslides, and teaches them how to keep safe if one happens.
