Haiti: recovery and rebuilding through partnership

11/01/2012 1:10:35 PM

When a massive earthquake struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, Act for Peace’s partners responded immediately with food, shelter, water and sanitation, psychosocial support, health care and awareness, education and livelihood programs.

As the emergency phase of the response came to a close, our partners adapted their response toward grassroots rebuilding and recovery initiatives. Now, two years on, the value of working in partnership with local organisations and the community has been demonstrated time and again. Local organisations have guided our partners in Haiti toward sustainable solutions that are valued — and moulded — by the local community.

This video from Act for Peace's partner working in Haiti shows how communities are being rebuilt since the earthquake.
