Will you help Mu Paw to always have enough to eat?
In camps along the Thailand–Myanmar border for refugees displaced by the decades-long conflict in Myanmar, almost half of the youngest children are malnourished. Act for Peace is supporting refugees to tackle malnutrition through innovative programs like a nursery school feeding program and community agriculture and nutrition.
Historic Arms Trade Treaty welcomed
Act for Peace welcomes an historic agreement by United Nations member states to regulate the multi-billion dollar global arms trade.
Devastating fire in refugee camp
Act for Peace is deeply saddened at news of a fire which has swept through a remote camp for Burmese refugees in north-west Thailand, killing 36 people, injuring more than 100, and destroying hundreds of shelters.
Please help protect children from the remnants of war
Ten years after the war began in Iraq in 2003, some 20 million landmines and an estimated 50 million deadly cluster bombs still lie silently in wait across the countryside. Your kind gift today can help prevent Iraqi children from being maimed and killed by landmines.
Cleared land means safety for Syrian refugees
It’s impossible to underestimate the importance of Domiz Refugee Camp for the 45,000-plus Syrians now living in this northern Iraq sanctuary after fleeing their country’s civil war. But the camp would not have been possible had Act for Peace's partner, MAG, not made the land safe first.
Syria violence: helping young women who have fled
Thousands of young Syrian mothers have fled the conflict in Syria either pregnant or with newborns with little, if any, money or personal belongings. Most of the women also have other young children and almost all of them left without their husbands. With the help of your kind gifts, our partners are distributing special personal care kits filled with important basics which are often forgotten and difficult to ask for in a society where a woman’s needs are not discussed.
VIDEO: Thank you for your support in 2012!
Thank you to all of our supporters for your gifts and actions for peace in 2012 ! Have a look at our short video to see some of the highlights — from supplying much needed aid to people caught up in the terrible violence in Syria, to campaigning with people around the world for an Arms Trade Treaty that will save lives.
The challenges faced by Syrian refugees in Lebanon
“People are in real need of help, and Lebanon does not have the capacity to carry this load alone." Refugees from Syria are streaming into neighbouring countries like Lebanon, where they face myriad challenges, including finding a place to stay, keeping warm, and access work and education. Read about how Act for Peace's partners are helping.
