Peacemaking – where to now? Saturday February 25, Melbourne

A gathering of people engaged, or hoping to be engaged, in the work of encouraging the church to be a peacemaking community.

From the organisers: “The reality which faces the church is this: Christians, as followers of Jesus Christ are called — in every age and situation — to be makers of peace. It is a given that nations will always go to war. Economies and societies will be lured into fear of the enemy. Christians, regardless of ‘numbers’ or ‘success’, are called to live faithfully in the way of Christ’s peace.”

When: Saturday February 25, 10.00am to 12.00 noon.
Where: Victorian Council of Churches, Level 4, Causeway House, 306 Little Collins Street, Melbourne.

The gathering will be followed by a BYO lunch for those who can stay. If you are interested in attending this gathering, please get in touch with one of the following people: Wes Campbell: wesleyc@unimelb.edu.au, phone (03) 8344 6034; Harry Kerr: ahmkerr@hotmail.com, phone (03) 9893 4946, or Theo Mackaay: tmackaay@vcc.org.au, phone (03) 9650 4511.
