Becoming a Representative is a practical way that you can help by simply handing out Christmas Bowl envelopes at church, chatting about projects with friends or holding events.

Act for Peace Representatives help create a meaningful connection between our supporters here in Australia and our project partners in conflict situations around the world.

It’s a practical way that you can help make a difference by simply handing out materials in church, chatting about our projects with friends, holding small events in support of these projects or by ensuring there are enough Christmas Bowl gift envelopes in your church at Christmas time. There are very few things as powerful as standing in solidarity with a persecuted people through prayer, interest or gifts. This connection is what we wish to grow with congregations and communities, as we try to communicate our project partners’ goals, successes and stories.

Committing to becoming an Act for Peace Representative can require as little or as much time as you desire. The idea is to get people involved beyond giving. While the role is very much tailored to the individual, there are six key areas which we are focusing on in 2009-2010.

The Christmas Bowl
With the help of the Christmas Bowl, our project partners are assisting more than 1 million people displaced by the most brutal conflicts. We need your help more than ever to ensure our project partners receive the help they need during this time of world financial crisis and high food prices.
 Act for Peace Partners
Act for Peace Partners offer hope and practical support to people living in extreme poverty in war-torn regions around the world with their kind gifts each month.

Act for Peace is a member of the global Action by Churches Together Alliance (ACT) which is at work in over 150 countries. Because of this unique alliance, we are able to respond to the most critical humanitarian emergencies almost immediately in a concerted effort.
