Program Finance Officer
• Apply program and organisational finance skills
• Work with an experienced and passionate program team, and international partners
• Permanent, full-time position
• Location: Sydney CBD
• Some international travel (primarily to Pacific Island countries)
The successful candidate will support program staff and overseas partners in the development and maintenance of good program and organisational financial management and accounting practices, contribute to development and maintenance of internal financial systems and provide financial reports on our program commitments to management.
Act for Peace assists the most conflict and disaster-affected communities to be safe. This means empowering communities to prevent conflict, protect refugees and reduce poverty. With support from Act for Peace and like agencies, our overseas partners are assisting millions of people affected by the world's worst conflicts, such as in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Sudan, Somalia, Burma and Sri Lanka.

Who We Are
Act for Peace is the international aid agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia. We empower communities to act for peace wherever conflicts occur by working with long-term project partners in helping communities to provide protection, prevent further conflict, manage disasters and reduce poverty.
We also work across Australia by encouraging support for our partners throughout the year, when conflicts break out and particularly at Christmas time through our largest church driven appeal, the Christmas Bowl.
Act for Peace’s national office is located in Sydney, though we do have some staff located in offices around Australia. Act for Peace is committed to the protection of children and does not employ staff whose background is not suitable for working with children. All employment is conditional upon the successful completion of all applicable background checks, including criminal record checks.
