Development Officer QLD & NT

You’re an enthusiastic and experienced relationship builder with a track record of success. You’re looking for a creative, broad and challenging role in which you can take real ownership of your work and see real results. Most of all, you’re looking for a position that will give you the opportunity to use your skills to make a real difference to the lives of others.

In this position you’ll be part of a motivated and experienced fundraising team with an ambitious new strategy and growth targets to match. You’ll be focusing on building relationships with high value churches and ecumenical groups and you’ll have ownership of community fundraising activities across QLD and NT. You’ll be working with successful existing community fundraising products such as the Christmas Bowl and also helping to shape the direction of a new nationwide strategy.

Act for Peace is the international aid agency of the National Council of churches in Australia. We empower war-torn communities to reduce poverty, protect refugees and prevent further conflict. We are currently assisting people in many of the world’s worst conflict-affected areas, including Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Zimbabwe, the Middle East, Burma and Sri Lanka. We have been assisting refugees around the world and in Australia for over 60 years.

Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator – 2x Voluntary Internships

Act for Peace is looking for two enthusiastic volunteers to help support growing fundraising activity. As an integral member of the fundraising and marketing team, you’ll have a varied role – from supporting our existing fundraisers to researching new opportunities. Working closely with the Head of Community Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator, you’ll increase income generated from community fundraising, through recruiting and supporting other volunteers. You’ll help grow networks of Act for Peace supporters and fundraisers and research new opportunities. Your work will be largely focused within the Christian community.

This voluntary internship is a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills and gain invaluable and varied knowledge of fundraising and the charity sector. The community fundraising and marketing team is currently in the process of developing a new strategy and designing new products so this is a great opportunity to get experience in strategy design and to be involved in a project from the very start. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to make a real difference and rebuild lives worldwide.

The role is flexible and we are looking for someone who can work from our Sydney office for two days per week, for a minimum of six months.

SharePoint Consultant (Volunteer)

We're recruiting a SharePoint Consultant who can voluntarily offer their expertise once or twice a week. This person should have the experience in the implementation and customisation of web portal, content management site or web-based collaborative workspace.

With support from Act for Peace and like agencies, our overseas partners are assisting millions of people affected by the world's worst conflicts, such as in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Sudan, Somalia, and Burma. 

We are the international aid agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia (‘NCCA’), a council of 19 member churches.  We are also a member of the global ACT Alliance which provides development and humanitarian assistance in more than 140 countries - enabling us to respond immediately to emergency situations and to advocate with global resources.

Act for Peace’s head office is located in Sydney, though we do have some staff located in offices around Australia.  Act for Peace is committed to the protection of children and does not employ staff whose background is not suitable for working with children.  All employment is conditional upon the successful completion of all applicable background checks, including criminal record checks.
